LIGA - Atletico Madrid president talks about a possible Griezmann return

In a new interview released to Spanish outlet COPE, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo briefly spoke about the possibility of seeing Antoine Griezmann back with the colchoneros:

 "“Griezmann? In football anything is possible. Nobody knows yet how these negotiations will end. It would be a very pleasant surprise". While this is not a
confirmation or anything of the sort that the French star is indeed coming back to the Wanda Metropolitano, it does leave the door open for a possible return, and seen how Barca are in deep financial trouble, a big sale which includes Griezmann is not out of the realm of possibilities. Furthermore, there were already rumors regarding a deal that would involve the two clubs swapping players, with Saul Niguez going to Barcelona and Griezmann to Atletico. 

The deal, however, seems unlikelier as the hours go by, as it was reported Saul Niguez is not willing to lower his wage demands, which is a conditio sine qua non he could join Barca, and Atletico are not desperate to sign Griezmann. Who knows, maybe Cerezo's words could hide a surprise in the making, we'll see what happens in the upcoming weeks.
