Arsenal FC apparently has no plans to extend the contract with Alexandre Lacazette, which will expire next summer. According to information from ESPN, the Gunners want to use their financial resources on other parts of the team instead.

Under Mikel Arteta, Lacazette is only part-time this season. Across all competitions, the 30-year-old Frenchman has only 54 minutes of competitive play to book.

In 2017, Lacazette came from Olympique Lyon for a reported fee of 53 million euros, and the 16-time national player has scored 66 goals in 172 games since then.

On 6 August 2017, Lacazette made his first appearance for Arsenal in the 2017 FA Community Shield against Chelsea. Despite hitting the post midway through the first half, Arsenal eventually won 4–1 on penalties after the game ended 1–1 at full time. This win constituted his first trophy win at Arsenal.
