Zenit, Karavaev: "I could have joined Lazio"

Playing for Zenit Saint Petersbourg since summer 2019, 26-year old Russian international right-back Vyacheslav Karavaev, ahead of facing Juventus in Champions League group round Matchday 3 game, told Italian press source Tuttosport: "Back in 2017, after my first Sparta Prague season, I could have joined Lazio. There were a lot of rumours pushing such scenario, at least. That would have been awesome, of course".
A CSKA Moscow alumni, Karavaev has also been playing for Dukla Prague, FK Jablonec, and Vitesse Arnhem, before joining Zenit. Deployable as a left-back and as a wide midfielder as well, the player has so far capped 19 times for Russian senior national team, scoring two goals therein.
