Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte believes the referee's VAR decision to deny Everton the penalty was the correct judgment after the game (h/t football.london).

For the first time in the Premier League, the North London club played under their new manager, and the team was unaltered from their UEFA Europa League triumph over Vitesse in midweek. Spurs, though, did not have a single shot on goal, as they did against Manchester United a week ago.

After the game, Conte told reporters that he thought the decision to refuse the Toffees penalty was the correct one.

“Lloris touched the ball before. To make a mistake after you watch VAR is impossible. I have seen, and he took the right decision.”

“Honestly, I have to be happy. I have to be happy for different reasons. The first, Goodison Park is not an easy place to come and play…You must have a stable team. Not ups and downs. Today we did not concede a goal, and it is a good start.”

During his time as Chelsea manager, the 52-year-old has never lost a game against the Goodison Park club, winning three and drawing one.
