As reported by British sports broadcaster Sky Sports, Crystal Palace are on the lookout to add to their forward positions for the upcoming season.

The latest rumor claims that the Premier League side is targeting Blackburn Rovers' Adam Armstrong, and the two clubs are in advanced talks. According to sources close to the deal, Rovers rejected Palace's first offer, but they remain in talks and are the front runners to land the striker. However, they may soon face competition from the likes of Southampton, who just sold forward Danny Ings to Aston Villa and are looking for a replacement.

It is believed that Blackburn is asking around 20M GBP for Armstrong, a hefty price tag justified by the striker's 30 goals last season in the Championship. Despite initial resistances, the club is open to letting him go, as declared by manager Tony Mowbray: "I’ve said to Adam that if they meet the number he can go, and we’ll shake him by the hand and wish him well and the football club will move on and hopefully we can find a replacement that can make the fans forget Adam pretty quickly and he can go and be successful somewhere else but there’s going to be a new hero around the corner".
