Interim Newcastle United manager Graeme Jones has announced that he will be in the dugout against Brighton on Saturday.
According to The Athletic and other sources, former Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe has been strongly projected to be the new permanent manager, with an announcement anticipated soon.
Despite the lack of an official declaration, Jones informed the reporters on Friday that he will remain in charge:
”I’m taking tomorrow’s game. I’ve prepared the team all week. The owners have communicated with me so I know where we are with things. We haven’t lost focus and we know we have a big game. I think the team are well prepared.”
The Magpies are currently in 19th place in the table, having yet to win a match this season.
