PREMIER - Newcastle preparing for January transfer window
Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley says the club would back new manager Eddie Howe in the January transfer window as they fight to avoid relegation.
Howe was appointed earlier this week as Newcastle's new Saudi owners look to turn the club around after years of obscurity.
New additions in January, according to Staveley, will be crucial to Newcastle's aspirations of getting out of the relegation zone.
"We are preparing for the January transfer window," Staveley told NUFC TV on Thursday.
"It's not a window we would ordinarily want to invest in, because you probably don't get the right deals, but that's something that is important at the moment."
Newcastle is currently second-bottom after failing to win any of their first 11 league matches.
