Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly has talked about how he dealt with racist abuse that he suffered after the club’s Serie A game against Fiorentina.

Koulibaly, along with teammates Victor Osimhen and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, suffered racist abuse after Napoli had beaten La Viola in Florence.

Ahead of Napoli’s Europa League game, Koulibaly spoke at the press conference and talked about racism. The Senegalese star stated: “I received many messages from public figures in Italy that made me very happy. I’m sorry for what happened to that boy, I didn’t sleep for two nights, I thought I was wrong. I’m so sorry.

“Many people have also called me from Florence asking me to meet this guy. For me, there would be no problems, it would be a nice way to understand what happened in his head. The fight against racism is a fight that I really care about and we must continue to fight.”
