Napoli captain and star Lorenzo Insigne has paid tribute to Diego Maradona on the club legend’s birthday.
Maradona would’ve turned 61 today but the Argentine had died last year in November. Insigne, as things stand, is just one goal away from equalling Maradona’s goalscoring record for the Partenopei.
On Instagram, Insigne paid tribute to the great Argentine and stated: “Equal you for what? You were, you are and you will be unmatched. It is usually said that you left a bid void but for us, it wasn’t like that. You are always here with us in people’s stories, films, murals and in our thoughts.”
Napoli take on Salernitana on Sunday and that game will allow Insigne the chance to go past Maradona’s goalscoring tally.
