LIGA - Sevilla's Monchi 'There is no offer for Kounde'
In an interview given to Spanish sports newspaper Marca, Sevilla sporting director Monchi touched on multiple topics, especially the current transfer market window.
When asked about Sevilla's situation, he said: "I am not satisfied. This is not what we had planned. When we spoke at the beginning of June we had a very different picture in mind than what today is. I take full responsibility...I do have mitigating circmstances, however. The market is stuck. All the clubs are living with rosters that are too expensive to sustain, the salary cap is a sword of Damocles on our heads..."
He then was asked about Jules Kounde, a player that has been linked with a handful of clubs this summer, including Chelsea: "Jules is fine. He's committed 100% to the team. There's a lot of noise surrounding him. As of today there is no concrete offer for him. There never has been. Many clubs have asked about him but that's it."
This comes on the heels of insistant rumors, especially by British media, that would see the Frenchman near an agreement with Chelsea. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
