PREMIER LEAGUE - Everton keen on Villarreal's Chukwueze

As reported by prominent U.S. sports outlet The Athletic, Everton seem to be eyeing Villareal's Samuel Chukwueze.

Chukwueze recently attracted interest from a number of clubs, after he featured in a successful campaign last year with the submarino amarillo that ended with the Spaniards lifting the Europa League trophy. Everton sporting director Marcel Brands seems to have now added him to his transfer shortlist, as the toffees are looking to add dynamism to the final third of the pitch, and the young Nigerian could be a valid option. 

The 22-year old got injured at the tail end of last season, but seems to be recuperating well in this offseason. Chukwueze has recently been praised by Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o when he said that "He is a quality player and he needs to score more goals, but he has the quality and ability to be more than just a goal-scoring forward. Once he gets all of that he will be top".

With Villarreal, the forward has appeared in 82 matches, scoring 9 goals since 2018. While he still has a lot of growing to do, Everton fans hope he can do it in Merseyside and become an important player for them, if negotiations ever go through.
