From Liga Financial, Arsenal could reportedly face stiff competition from Everton for the services of Schalke 04 forward Matthew Hoppe. The 20-year-old has managed to found back of the net six times in 22 Bundesliga games for the German outfit last season, however, could not prevent Schalke from suffering a dismal relegation to the second tier.

Hoppe is therefore following to play in the second tier of the Germany top-tier in the 2020-21 season, however, top-tier sides have reportedly been alerted to his availability after a stellar Gold Cup run with the USA.

According to journalist Grant Wahl, Hoppe is believed to end his association with Schalke in the current transfer window, and Everton and Arsenal have both touched base with the German side over a move. The USA international now has under two years left to run on his deal with Schalke, who are supposedly prepared to accept a modest figure of £4m to sanction his sale.
