LIGA MX - Club America striker in talks to renew contract with team
According to multiple reports on Mexican sport media, Club America striker Henry Martin would be set to renew his contract with Las Aguilas for the forseeable future.
The Yucatan-born Martin, who is currently with the Mexican National Team that just played in the CONCACAF Nations League final on Sunday, would renew with America as soon as he comes back to Mexico City. The two parties have a pre-contract in place that would tie the player to the azulcrema for two more years with an option for a third, according to the reports. There are still a few minor details to iron out, but everything dictates that we will see Martin with America for the next few years.
The forward has become one of the most reliable players for America and the National team and according to a source close to the club, "[Manager Santiago] Solari is very happy with Henry, nobody wanted him to leave; there have been a few clubs interested for him but his desire to stay at America remained strong"
