L’Équipe report that MLS side Atlanta United are poised to have a close to €10m offer accepted by Lille for Brazilian 25-year-old winger Luiz Araujo.
Talks are ongoing in the final hours of the US summer transfer window – the player had 12 months remaining on his deal with Les Dogues and is advanced contract negotiations with the MLS franchise.
A super sub throughout the Ligue 1 winning campaign last season, Araujo notched 18 goals and 8 assists in 136 matches for Les Dogues. Luiz Araujo joined Lille in 2017 after an impressive season with his boyhood club, Sao Paulo in which he appeared in 26 matches in Serie A Brasileirao, with 4 goals and 3 assists under his belt.
