BUNDES - Dortmund riddled with defensive problems
Dortmund has already conceded 11 goals in five Bundesliga games, which is the league's fifth-worst record, dimming the brilliance of Erling Haaland, Marco Reus, and Jude Bellingham.
The amazing scoring record of Haaland conceals the team's problems. Dortmund would only have three points from its past three Bundesliga games if the 21-year-old Norwegian had not scored.
"We have to work on it as soon as possible, because that's how we lose out and undo all the good work we've invested in the first 60 or 70 minutes," Dortmund captain Marco Reus said of his team's propensity to allow rivals to fight back.
"It can't go on like this. We have to be much cleverer, to be more grownup in our play, and improve especially when defending against set-pieces. It's inexplicable. We will and have to talk about it."
