Coming into play during Athletic Club's home win over Alavés on Friday (1-0), Spanish striker Iñaki Williams (27) broke a record that spans almost 30 years.
Indeed, the Basque played his 203rd consecutive game with Los Leones in the league, thus securing the absolute record in front of the former midfielder of the Spanish Juan Antonio Larrañaga, who had chained 202 matches in the jersey of Real Sociedad . In this same ranking, he had already overtaken another Real player in the person of the Spanish goalkeeper Luis Arconada (188).
Arrived at the Athletic Club training center at the age of 16, Iñaki Williams signed his first professional contract in 2013 with the club in his hometown before extending in 2019 until June 2028. And since April 2016 , the Spanish international (1 selection) will not have missed any meeting of his family, scoring more than 40 goals in the Rojiblanco jersey.
