LIGA - Bale's agent on his client: ''He is a fanatical Welshman''
Gareth Bale once threatened his agent after he raised the prospect of him representing England.
Before his 100th appearance in a Wales shirt, Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has revealed a comical story about Bale threatening him over a suggestion that he could play for England.
“If he gets to the World Cup with Wales, I think that will be his crowning glory,” said Barnett in an interview, as cited by Diario AS.
“From the first day I met him and his father, he said to us how special Wales was.
“When we spoke to him, he had the possibility to play for England. He said, ‘Never say that again if you want to be my agent!’
“He is a fanatical Welshman.”
Bale helped Wales make it to the semi-finals of Euro 2016. It was the first time they had qualified for a major event in more than 50 years.
He also helped them qualify for Euro 2020, and they are still in contention for the World Cup qualifying play-offs as they enter their final two group games.
