LIGA - Barca: Lionel Messi's famous burofax unveiled

It was an open secret: last summer after the historic defeat of FC Barcelona against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League (8-2), Lionel Messi had requested from Catalonia.
The Spanish media spoke of a clause in his contract allowing him to unilaterally terminate. However, this clause was not valid until June 10, 2020, but La Pulga's request to break up dated from August after the delayed end of last season due to the pandemic.
The Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo unveiled in one of its Sunday edition the content of the burofax sent by the Argentinian international to Barca, led at the time by Josep Maria Bartomeu: “Hereby, and in accordance with the provisions of clause 3.1 . of the contract of November 25, 2017, I express my desire to terminate my employment contract as a professional footballer with effect from August 30, 2020. [...] I understand that the period of the right of unilateral termination without cause regulated by the aforementioned clause must be interpreted according to the exceptional circumstances in which the 2019-2020 football competitive season took place, due to the state of alarm and the situation of force majeure resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic ” ,
