LIGA - Barcelona, new signing Depay speaks to the media

In his first interview released to the media since arriving in Barcelona to sign with the Blaugranas, Memphis Depay spoke about his plans after joining the Catalans:

"It is a very special day, I'm touched. I hope to win many titles with Barcelona, that's why I came here. I just came back from vacation and now I need to focus on the tasks ahead. I'll try to adapt as soon as I can; I love playing offensive football and Barcelona's philosophy suits me perfectly. Koeman? Thanks to him I took many steps forward in my growth as a player. He's always put a lot of trust in me and he pushed hard to have me sign with the best club in world football. I'm very happy he's here and I'm ready to fight on the pitch for him". 

Depay arrives in a delicate moment for the club, as they are desperately trying to cut wages to comply with La Liga regulations. Depay arrives to Barca after spending four years at Olympique Lyonnais, where he played in 139 matches and scored 63 goals across all competitions. He recently played in Euro 2020 with the Netherlands as well, and he scored twice for the Oranje before they were knocked out of the tournament in the round of last 16 by the Czech Republic
