Betis Sevilla have apparently started talks with Nabil Fekir to negotiate a contract extension. As reported by the 'Mundo Deportivo', the Andalusians are planning to extend the Frenchman's working paper by two to three more years. Fekir's current contract is valid until 2023.

The 28-year-old surprisingly moved from Olympique Lyon to Betis in 2019 for 20 million euros. Previously, top clubs such as Liverpool vied for the playmaker. Reports of a failed medical check-up with the Reds circulated before Fekir signed with his current La Liga employer.

On 22 July 2019, Fekir signed a four-year contract with Spanish club Real Betis for an initial fee of €19.75 million and €10 million in add-ons. Lyon will receive 20% of any future sale of the player and as part of the deal, Fekir's younger brother Yassin also transferred between the two clubs.
