The referee of PSG-Manchester City is known. Two days before Paris Saint-Germain's first European shock in the Champions League, against Manchester City, Spanish referee Carlos del Cerro Grande was appointed to take the whistle. With 24 Champions League matches to his credit, the 45-year-old has already refereed the Skyblues five times: during the 2018-2019 season (against Shakhtar and Schalke), once in 2019-2020 (against Dinamo Zagreb) and twice in 2020-21 (against Olympiacos and Dortmund).

However, it is not unknown on the part of all Parisians, and in particular Kylian Mbappe. Indeed, the Spaniard was on the whistle during France-Germany, the first match of Euro 2021 for the France team, on June 15, in Munich. He had been criticized in particular for not having signaled a big contact on Benjamin Pavard and a much discussed action by Mats Hummels on Kylian Mbappé in the penalty area, but he had not whistled a penalty for the Blues. At the Parc des Princes, this Tuesday, Carlos del Cerro Grande will have to avoid any controversy.
