Cruz Azul manager Reynoso "forever thankful" with players
Juan Reynoso's name was indelibly marked on Cruz Azul's history on Sunday, after bringing back a title to a club that was absent since 1997. In a visibly emotional press conference, the Peruvian manager declared:
"I have to thank life, football, I feel humbled, thankful, players are everything, I take this opportunity to thank my family, everybody, "El Profe" Meza was instrumental to me being here, he first brought me here as a player, then he took me under his wing when he wanted me as his second on the bench, he always told me that he hoped one day I would finally bring back the title to Cruz Azul."
He then reflected on his players: "I speak for everybody, I saw them cry in frustration during hard times, today I am seeing them cry for joy. I feel for them because many of them have been here a long time, it is something they wanted and deserved"
