In a report by Mexican news outlet Telediario, Miguel Herrera was announced as Tigres' new manager, earlier today.  According to the report, El Piojo came to an agreement with Tigres on a two year deal, after much negotiation about contract length with the club's owners. In fact, Herrera was keen on a longer deal, while the club wanted to be able to evaluate Herrera's work after each tournament.

Herrera will be now officially coming back to Monterrey, this time on Los universitarios side, after he had already coached fierce rivals Monterrey in 2004-2005. El Piojo will now be hard at work with a side that is sure to be one of the contenders in Mexican football for years to come, thanks to frenchmen Andre-Pierre Gignac and newest signing Florian Thauvin, who will try to bring Tigres a title after their last came in the Clausura 2019, while also winning the CONCACAF Champions League in 2020 and achieving second place in the FIFA Club World Cup in the same year.
