Roberto Mancini's Italy, despite an unexpected 1-1 at the Franchi against Bulgaria, are unbeaten in the last 35 games.

Spain remained undefeated just 35 times between 2007 and 2009. Better than Italy there is only Brazil, the green-gold streak from 1993 to 1996 is 36 races long.

Mancini was quoted after the match that made them record-holders stating that:

"We lacked being more precise in the goal area. These are those games that if you play even for half an hour longer, the ball does not enter. They defended well, we did our best. They made a counterattack: this is football ”.

"If we had won it would have been better, but Sunday is an important match and we will have to win it ”.
