Due to a throat ailment, Scott McTominay will miss Scotland's World Cup qualifying match against Moldova.

The Manchester United midfielder was ordered home from Scotland's training camp in Spain ahead of their game against Moldova on Friday, but he might still play against Denmark on Monday.

"Unfortunately, Scott McTominay has picked up a bit of a throat virus so we have sent Scott home to rest and recuperate and hopefully he will join us again at the weekend," Scotland coach Steve Clarke said Thursday.

In Group F, Denmark has already qualified, and third-placed Scotland can qualify for the playoffs with three points on Friday. Scotland is four points ahead of Israel.
