Lionel Messi looks set to be in action for Argentina this week. The star player missed Paris Saint-Germain's last two games due to injury, but national team coach Lionel Scaloni is confident he can play against Uruguay and Brazil.

Scaloni said this during his press moment on Thursday. He reported there that Messi passed his individual training sessions well and could start in the starting lineup against Uruguay on Friday. "Leo wants to play and I want him to play too. If he stays in order, he will play," assured Scaloni, delaying a final decision until later in the day.

At Paris Saint-Germain, they will not be completely happy with the developments surrounding Messi at Argentina. Previously, sporting director Leonardo said he was not happy that the Argentinian was traveling while he was still recovering from his injury. "We didn't break any rules," Scaloni said. He said he understood Leonardo's reaction, but emphasized that the current international match schedule is a problem for all top European clubs.

Messi's Argentina will play the away game against Uruguay in the night from Friday to Saturday. Four days later, the top match against Brazil, the leader of the South American World Cup qualifying group, awaits.
