STANDARD LIEGE, Zinho VANHEUSDEN: "I'm staying put, because..."

Back to the pitch, after a long-term injury recovery, Standard Liege and Belgian U21 and full-side national teams centre-back Zinho Vanheusden, throughout latest Jupiler League side press conference he's been attending, stated: "I sense I'm not scared to get into tackles and duels, and that's a very good healing sign. I'm very happy to be back on the ground, dealing with a seven-month long lack of game was very hard. When I fell injured, everyone was sure my season was over, and I'm so proud I proved them wrong. That's a victory, an important one, itself.
I want to keep on playing for Standard, because I feel good here. I haven't started any talk on the matter anyway, since I'm letting my agent deal with all of that. It's my fourth season as a pro player, and I haven't been able to have an actual whole one yet, out of a combination of injuries and that damn coronavirus. I think I can provide something really good, if I get to play the whole season long. But I'm in no hurry to prove, I want to reach out to it step by step".
Part of Inter Milan system from summer 2015 to early 2018, Vanheusden seems to have therefore closed the door to rumours linking him to a Neroazzurri move back, based on Italian giants still retaining an option upon him.
