BUNDESLIGA - Bundesliga has a winter break of more than two months

The Bundesliga will have a winter break of more than two months next season, the organizer of the German league has announced. The decision was taken with a view to the World Cup in Qatar, which will take place next year from November 21 to December 18.
The German league will be suspended between November 13 and January 20. The Bundesliga is the first major European competition to announce what the special 2022/23 season will look like. Normally the World Cup is organized in the summer, but due to the hot summer months in Qatar, the final round will take place in the winter next year.
It is expected that the other major leagues, such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1, will follow the example of the Bundesliga and include a long winter break in their schedule. The KNVB has not yet announced what the program of the Eredivisie and Kitchen Champion Division will look like next year, although those competitions normally also have a longer winter break.
There is a good chance that the Dutch national team will soon qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. In two weeks, the team of national coach Louis van Gaal will play the last two matches in the qualifying series. First, an away game against Montenegro is scheduled, a few days later, major competitor Norway is the opponent in De Kuip.
