LIGA - Koeman clear about his future at FC Barcelona

Ronald Koeman is not worried about his future as FC Barcelona coach. The coach lost 0-3 against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week, but is mainly realistic and counts on getting the confidence.

"I'm more realistic than opportunistic. A year ago Barca lost to Bayern 2-8 and played with Messi, Griezmann, Suarez," Koeman recalls from the quarter-finals of the billion-dollar ball two editions ago. "We have finished the game this time with Mingueza, Araujo, Balde, Pedri, Gavi, Demir and we are still waiting for the return of Ansu Fati. There are a lot of changes in the squad at the moment, with injuries and many young players."

Koeman is confident in his future, partly due to the supportive statements of chairman Joan Laporta. "And I don't have to repeat it," said the Dutchman. "I know the results count. I'm not afraid for my future." He is also clear about whether he still has confidence in his men, despite all the absentees. "We are confident in winning games, but there is still a long way to go."

Furthermore, the coach said that Ansu Fati has almost recovered for his return, but he does not want to put a date on the return. Philippe Coutinho is fit enough, but will not participate for 90 minutes. So again young players will participate. "I'm not afraid to start with talents. But you shouldn't immediately put six players in the base." There is a good chance that Koeman will return in 4-3-3. "But if you have a lot of central defenders and only two attackers, you have to adjust your system."
