LIGA - Report: Barcelona could have signed Mbappe in 16/17 season
According to an AS story, former President Josep Maria Bartomeu made some comments about Kylian Mbappe.
He claims that Kylian Mbappe was a possible acquisition for them at the time, but that the scouts pushed hard for Dembele instead, and that it was the wrong decision.
Mbappe had just ended his breakout season with Monaco when Dembele was signed, so he wasn't nearly the unquestionable megastar that he is now.
Despite paying nearly £100 million to sign Dembele from Dortmund, Teamtalk recently revealed that he could leave Barcelona for free in January.
Mbappe is reportedly close to joining Real Madrid next summer, which will exacerbate the situation if he does join Madrid and leads them to triumph for years to come, according to AS.
