Overtaken by Ferland Mendy in the chain of game time and regular positioning entrustment at Real Madrid, former Brazilian international wingback Marcelo Vieira da Silva Junior, who just turned 33 on May 12, is parting ways with Merengues by a sure thing, after basically 14 years and a half in. Still on a deal with Spanish titans until June 2022, Marcelo, previously linked to reuniting with former teammate and friend of his, Cristiano Ronaldo, into Juventus ranks, is now apparently headed for a Major League Soccer move. To this end, Inter Miami, the rich franchise co-owned by David Beckham, seems to have been taking over Los Angeles Galaxy, in pursuing the flank aging star.

Collecting a grand total of 527 official caps for Real Madrid, and scoring 38 goals in the process, Marcelo, while also playing for Brazilian full-side national team from 2006 to 2018 (58 caps and 6 goals netted), managed to win 11 home titles for Blancos, as well as 10 international ones (including a 4-time Champions League gold medal amount). Besides, Marcelo was included in FIFA FIFPro World XI six times, in 2012, and, year by year, from 2015 to 2019.
