LIGA - Next Barcelona coach could be Luis Enrique
It's no secret that Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is disliked by many supporters. Since taking charge at Camp Nou last year, the Dutchman has won the Copa del Rey but has struggled to win over the fans.
Koeman's tactics, team selections, and handling of certain of Barcelona's academy graduates, such as Riqui Puig and Alex Collado, have made him unpopular with some fans.
Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, according to journalist Sique Rodriguez of La Porteria TV, remains a strong possibility for the coaching position should he leave the Spanish national team.
“If Luis Enrique did not continue with Spain, I think he would be the number one candidate to be the manager of Barcelona,” Rodriguez said.
Due to his links with Barcelona as a player and later as a manager, the 51-year-old is a beloved figure. Enrique was in charge of Barcelona for three years, from 2014 to 2017, and won nine titles during that time, including the historic treble in 2014/15.
