AS Roma, Gasperini on Sancho: “We don’t beg anyone. If he’s not convinced, he’ll stay where he is”

In his press conference ahead of AS Roma’s clash with Pisa, Gian Piero Gasperini also addressed questions about Jadon Sancho, with the Manchester United winger having been strongly linked with the club in recent weeks through sporting director Ricky Massara.

Are you satisfied with your attacking options, with Champions League qualification and perhaps a run in the Coppa Italia and Europa League in mind?
“I’ve never set those kinds of targets – we just want to be competitive. It’s too early to talk about the transfer market, and in any case there are only a few days left. Right now our focus is on tomorrow’s game because we’ll be facing a side ready to give everything. The rest can wait.”

What response did Sancho give to Roma?
“Call him if you’ve got his number… (laughs). You already know everything. I don’t know what room there is now. But we don’t beg anyone – that applies to everyone. Sancho is one option, but we’re an option for him as well. If he doesn’t see it that way, then he’ll stay where he is.”
