With Lazio sitting joint top of Serie A alongside Inter, the club are also stepping up efforts to secure the futures of several key players. Sporting director Angelo Fabiani is working on a series of contract extensions, with Isaksen, Rovella and Dele-Bashiru among those in line for new deals.

The aim is to keep together a squad that has proved crucial to Gennaro Gattuso’s plans during what has so far been an excellent season.

Floriani renewal moves to top of Lazio’s agenda

Securing these renewals is a key part of Lazio’s strategy, particularly given the possibility of another transfer window in which the club may have to balance spending with sales or, in the worst-case scenario, face restrictions on incoming transfers.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Romano Floriani’s contract extension is now the club’s immediate priority.

Talks with the right-back’s representatives have been ongoing for several weeks, and a final agreement is now understood to be close.

Contract details: Floriani set for significant salary increase
The 23-year-old defender’s steady development and impressive recent performances have convinced Lazio to reward him with a substantial pay rise.

Under the proposed new deal, Floriani’s salary would increase from €130,000 per season to a starting figure of around €500,000 a year.

Only a few administrative details remain to be finalised before an agreement can be completed and the new contract signed.
