Moise Kean to Como: Fiorentina consider improved €40m offer for striker
Como have stepped up their attempt to sign Moise Kean by submitting an improved offer worth close to €40m including bonuses, leaving Fiorentina with one of the biggest decisions of the final week of the transfer window.
Cesc Fabregas' side have made the Italy international their leading target for the centre-forward position and returned with a second proposal after an earlier bid worth around €30m was rejected.
Kean has given his approval to the potential move, but Fiorentina have yet to sanction his departure. The Viola's position is not based solely on the size of Como's offer: they also want to identify and secure an adequate replacement before losing their first-choice striker.
Como increase pressure on Fiorentina
The latest proposal is understood to be worth approximately €35m plus €5m in bonuses. Como are waiting for an answer and hope the improved terms will be enough to bring the clubs closer to an agreement.
Kean's willingness to make the switch is significant. Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici has made clear that the club do not need to sell, but he has also outlined the circumstances in which a departure could be considered: the player must want the move, the financial offer must be satisfactory and Fiorentina must be able to replace him appropriately.
Those conditions explain why negotiations have not yet reached a conclusion despite Como's renewed push.
Beto emerges as Fiorentina consider life after Kean
Fiorentina have already begun assessing possible replacements. Everton striker Beto, who previously played in Serie A with Udinese, is among the players being considered should Kean leave Florence.
That search could ultimately determine the timing of the entire operation. Fiorentina will be reluctant to enter the final days of the market without a recognised centre-forward, particularly after a difficult 2025-26 campaign in which Kean still managed eight goals despite the team's struggles.
For Como, the ambition is obvious. Fabregas' side have spent heavily to raise the level of the squad and adding an established Italy striker would represent another significant statement.
The financial gap has narrowed. The decisive question now is whether Fiorentina can find the replacement they want quickly enough to allow Kean to leave.
