Newcastle United are prepared to give Matthias Jaissle time to turn things around after a disappointing start to the season. Despite growing frustration among supporters, the Magpies’ hierarchy had anticipated a period of transition following several major summer departures and remain firmly behind the German manager and his long-term vision.

According to TEAMtalk, the 38-year-old’s position is not currently under threat. Newcastle intend to give him their full backing as he works to establish his tactical approach and improve results. They sit 11th in the Premier League with just eight points from their opening seven games, following a recent 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa and a heavy 4-1 loss away to newly promoted Coventry City. The poor start has fuelled discontent among supporters, with sections of the fanbase and even an influential local fanzine calling for the manager’s immediate dismissal. Nevertheless, the St James’ Park hierarchy retain full confidence in the project Jaissle is building.
