Juventus beat Chelsea to Kerim-Sam Alajbegovic as €35m deal agreed
Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Kerim-Sam Alajbegovic, beating Chelsea to one of Europe's most highly rated young wingers. It has been another significant day in the transfer market for the Bianconeri, who, after agreeing a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Randal Kolo Muani, have also finalised terms with Bayer Leverkusen for the Bosnian talent.
Chelsea had looked to be in pole position to land Alajbegovic, but Juventus have successfully hijacked the move.
Transfer details
Alajbegovic will join Juventus on a permanent transfer in a deal worth €30m guaranteed, with a further €5m in performance-related add-ons. Bayer Leverkusen will also retain a sell-on clause as part of the agreement. It is a major coup for Juventus, who have seen off strong competition from Chelsea to secure the Bosnia international's signature. Atalanta, Fiorentina and Roma had also registered interest in the player in recent weeks.
Medical imminent
According to information gathered by TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus are now working to bring Alajbegovic to Turin as soon as possible, with his arrival potentially taking place later today. The club are hoping to complete his medical on Thursday morning, allowing the winger to join Luciano Spalletti's squad immediately afterwards.
