Omar Marmoush set for Tottenham medical after £60m Man City agreement
Tottenham have reached an agreement with Manchester City for Omar Marmoush, with the Egypt forward set to undergo a medical before completing his move to north London.
The deal will initially take the 27-year-old to Spurs on loan before an obligation to buy is activated. The package is worth up to £60m, comprising a guaranteed £50m payment and a further £10m in bonuses.
Marmoush is now set to follow Sávio from Manchester City to Tottenham as Roberto De Zerbi continues a dramatic overhaul of his attacking options.
Marmoush adds flexibility to Tottenham attack
Unlike a traditional penalty-box striker, Marmoush is capable of operating across the frontline. He can play centrally, move into the channels or start from a wider position, giving De Zerbi several ways of fitting him into the side.
That versatility has been one of the defining characteristics of his career. He established himself as one of the Bundesliga's most dangerous forwards at Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Manchester City in January 2025.
He has since competed for attacking minutes in one of Europe's deepest squads, where Erling Haaland remains the obvious reference point through the middle.
Another major Tottenham investment
The agreement underlines Tottenham's willingness to commit significant funds to De Zerbi's rebuild. After completing the Sávio deal, Spurs have moved immediately for another City attacker rather than waiting for the closing hours of the window.
Marmoush had continued to feature for City and started against Tottenham earlier this month, making the speed of the development particularly striking.
From Tottenham's perspective, the transfer offers immediate Premier League experience without sacrificing the possibility of further development.
For City, meanwhile, the departures of Sávio and Marmoush form part of an unusually busy period of squad turnover.
The medical is now the principal remaining step before Marmoush can formally become a Tottenham player.
