Rayo Vallecano have been left without a home stadium just three weeks before their first home match of the 2026/27 LaLiga season. Serious safety deficiencies have been identified at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas following an inspection, forcing the authorities to take immediate action.

According to the inspection report, the condition of the stadium was described as both serious and unexpected, prompting Madrid City Council, which owns the venue, to begin proceedings to terminate the club's concession agreement while imposing a precautionary suspension of its use. Rayo Vallecano have 10 days to submit their observations before a final decision is made.

Club now searching for a temporary home
The Madrid-based club must now find an alternative venue for their home matches while the necessary work is carried out. Repairs are expected to take between two and six months, although work cannot begin until the relevant approvals have been granted. Until then, uncertainty remains over where Rayo Vallecano will play their home fixtures at the start of the new LaLiga campaign.
