Simić succumbs to Saudi riches: ex-Milan defender joins Al Ittihad in €20m deal

Once considered a potential January target for Lazio, Jan-Carlo Simić is instead heading to Saudi Arabia. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 2005-born Serbian defender has accepted Al Ittihad’s offer and will sign a four-year deal running until 2029 with the Jeddah club, home to Karim Benzema.
A familiar name in Italian football, Simić came through Milan’s youth ranks and even made his first-team debut under Stefano Pioli, scoring his maiden Serie A goal as a teenager. However, in the summer of 2024 the Rossoneri opted to sell him permanently to Anderlecht for just €3m. Now, at 20, he will embark on a new adventure far from Europe.
Al Ittihad are set to pay around €20m including bonuses to prise him away from the Belgian side – a move the young defender ultimately could not turn down given the lucrative terms on offer.
