Lampard wants Tomori at Coventry as AC Milan open door to defender’s exit
Coventry City are targeting Fikayo Tomori. The AC Milan defender, who has been with the Rossoneri since January 2021, is under contract until 2027 but is among the players who could leave the club during this transfer window. According to the latest reports from England, Frank Lampard wants to work with Tomori again and is trying to convince him to move to Coventry. The pair previously worked together at Derby County and Chelsea.
Tomori and Lampard reunited? Former Premier League executive says the manager is pushing
Former Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has now addressed the rumours. Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “I get the feeling Lampard is working very hard behind the scenes to get the deal done. Coventry will need something to strengthen in some way.” Wyness, however, stressed that it would not be easy to convince Tomori to join a newly promoted side whose immediate objective will be staying in the Premier League.
Coventry are back in the top flight of English football after 25 years, with Lampard in charge. The manager has revived his managerial career and rebuilt his reputation in the dugout.
