Stones edges closer to Inter as medical set for Thursday
John Stones is on the verge of becoming an Inter player. According to information gathered by TuttoMercatoWeb, the England international is scheduled to undergo his medical on Thursday before signing the contract that will complete his move to the Nerazzurri.
After a lengthy spell at Manchester City, the experienced centre-back is available as a free agent. Barring any late twists, he will soon join Cristian Chivu's squad and begin preparations for the new season.
Inter win race for Stones
Inter first made contact with Stones in March and have remained in pole position ever since, fending off competition from Juventus and AC Milan, with the Bianconeri making a late attempt to hijack the deal. The 32-year-old is set to sign a contract running until 2028, worth €4m per season, as Inter move to replace the departing Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.
