Frosinone are continuing their search for reinforcements ahead of the new season. According to Sky Sport, the club are close to signing Kevin Akpoguma, the 30-year-old defender who became a free agent after leaving Hoffenheim. The Nigeria international has chosen Serie A as the place to relaunch his career and test himself in a different league, having spent almost all of his career in Germany.

An experienced addition for Alvini
Frosinone’s aim, as coach Massimiliano Alvini has himself admitted, is to play openly against every opponent. The arrival of Akpoguma would therefore allow the Giallazzurri to add experience and a different level of status to the squad. Over his career, Akpoguma has made 179 Bundesliga appearances, played 11 Europa League matches and featured twice in the Champions League, as well as winning eight caps for Nigeria.
