No Mike Maignan concerns at AC Milan as goalkeeper remains central to Amorim's plans

Mike Maignan's decision to delete every post from his Instagram account may have sparked speculation among AC Milan fans, but it has not raised any concerns within the club. The reason is straightforward: neither the France international nor his representatives have informed Milan of any desire to leave, unlike the situation involving Rafael Leão.

As things stand, there are no doubts over Maignan's future. The goalkeeper remains a key part of the club's long-term plans and continues to enjoy the full backing of both owner Gerry Cardinale and head coach Rúben Amorim.

Amorim expects Maignan to return as captain
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Maignan is currently on holiday following the FIFA Club World Cup and is expected to report back to Milanello in mid-August, shortly before the start of the new season. He will return alongside fellow France international Adrien Rabiot, who is also expected to play a leading role under Amorim.

The Portuguese coach is eagerly awaiting both players, with Maignan set to retain the captain's armband and his status as one of the dressing room's most influential figures. The French goalkeeper also signed a new contract with Milan last January, keeping him at the club until 30 June 2031.

Milan have no intention of selling Maignan
Despite the disappointment of missing out on Champions League qualification, there is no indication that Milan are considering life without their first-choice goalkeeper. Maignan has never asked to leave the club, and there are no plans to recruit a replacement.

Cardinale has made it clear he wants to keep the squad's core intact. Just as the club persuaded Luka Modrić to remain for another season, Milan are equally determined to retain the players they regard as the foundations of the project - with Maignan firmly among them and set to continue as captain next season.
