Joao Cancelo pushing for Barcelona return as third spell beckons
Joao Cancelo is keen to return to Barcelona for a third spell at the club. The Portugal international went back to Al Hilal after spending the second half of last season on loan with the Catalan giants, but according to Arriyadiyah, a move back to Camp Nou is now his preferred option.
Head coach Hansi Flick has already given his approval to the deal, although Barcelona and Al Hilal still need to agree the terms of a transfer.
Cancelo made 23 appearances during his most recent loan spell, scoring two goals and providing four assists as Barcelona completed the campaign.
The 32-year-old is no stranger to the Blaugrana, having also spent the 2023/24 season at the club on loan from Manchester City, and he is now hoping to complete a third stint in Catalonia.
