Manchester City have confirmed that Josko Gvardiol has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031. The Croatia international has committed his future to the Premier League champions after three impressive seasons at the club.

Gvardiol joined City from RB Leipzig in 2023 in a deal worth €90m, making him the world's most expensive defender at the time. Since arriving in Manchester, the 24-year-old has made 122 appearances in all competitions and scored 13 goals.

Gvardiol: "I want to stay here for many years"
Speaking after signing his new deal, Gvardiol said: "My only wish is that we keep moving forward together. I can't wait to stay here and continue playing for this club for many, many years."

The Croatian also reflected on his experience in England. "The Premier League is my favourite league and, in my opinion, the most difficult one to win. I remember saying in my first season that only a few Croatian players had ever won the Premier League, so achieving that means a great deal to me."
