Gianluca Mancini's agent: "I wanted to sell him, but he was determined to stay at Roma"

Giuseppe Riso has revealed that Gianluca Mancini turned down lucrative offers to remain at AS Roma, admitting he would have preferred to arrange a transfer before the defender made it clear he wanted to stay.

Speaking to FCInter1908, Riso explained: "I wanted to move him on, but he was determined to stay at Roma. Even with important offers on the table and the chance to earn more money, he wanted to remain here at all costs. Gasperini and D'Amico did a better job than I did convincing him. I would have sold him!" (laughs)

"He turned everything down because of Roma. It was a decision he made for the club's supporters. I told him, 'You're crazy,' but I'm happy because he's happy, even though he could have earned more elsewhere."

Frattesi's future still undecided
Riso also provided an update on Davide Frattesi, confirming that discussions with Inter are still to take place. "I still have to meet with Inter. Once we've spoken, everything will become clearer. There are a few situations to assess, but I need to discuss them with the club first."

Asked about reported interest from Juventus, he added: "I'm not going to talk about that before speaking to Inter. I don't think it would be right. Afterwards we'll evaluate his future. He's a player who scores important goals and has a huge heart, but first I'll speak with Inter."

Carlos Augusto, Camarda and Cristante
The agent also confirmed that contract talks with Carlos Augusto are expected to begin soon. "We'll be discussing Carlos Augusto's renewal with the club shortly."

Riso also spoke about two of Milan's brightest young talents. "Camarda and Comotto represent the new Milan. They're the future of the club. I'm very happy for them, and they're happy too."

Finally, he praised Bryan Cristante following his contract extension with Roma. "He's Roma's captain and he'll go down in the club's history."
