Aston Villa complete loan signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea on a season-long loan. The agreement includes an obligation to buy, which will become mandatory next summer if certain conditions are met.

Garnacho joins Villa Park
The 22-year-old Argentina international arrives after spending one season at Chelsea, having joined the Blues from Manchester United in the summer of 2025. A product of United's academy, Garnacho made 144 first-team appearances for the Red Devils before his move to Stamford Bridge. Last season, he scored eight goals in 43 appearances for Chelsea.

Capable of operating on either wing or through the middle, Garnacho has earned eight senior caps for Argentina and won the 2024 FIFA Puskás Award for his spectacular overhead kick against Everton.

Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery welcomed the club's latest signing. "We are delighted to welcome Alejandro. He is an exceptionally talented young player and immediately showed how eager he was to become part of our project. We are all very pleased to have him here."

Chelsea confirm departure
Chelsea also confirmed the move, announcing that Garnacho has joined Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season. The agreement includes an obligation to buy, subject to certain conditions being met at the end of the campaign.
