Manchester City have booked Elliot Anderson’s medical for today in New York, as they look to complete the final paperwork before formally announcing the midfielder’s arrival.

The Premier League champions have reached a full agreement with Nottingham Forest on a record deal worth £116m, around €134m, with no additional bonuses included. According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between the two clubs is complete, making it one of the most expensive transfers in football history.

Anderson is coming off an excellent season at Forest, where he scored four goals and provided four assists in 30 appearances.

England manager Thomas Tuchel now regards him as a starter and named him in the XI both against Croatia, when he supplied an assist, and against Ghana. In the opening match against the Croatians, he stood out as the game’s best ball-winner, recovering possession eight times.
