Skriniar: “Me at Ac Milan? Never say never, but I’m getting older. No contact this summer”

Former Inter defender and current Fenerbahçe centre-back Milan Škriniar gave an exclusive interview to Alessandro Schiavone for MilanNews.it. Here are his comments:
Škriniar, at the start of the window there was talk of Milan’s interest. Can you confirm or deny the rumours?
“I never spoke with Milan. I never had any contact with the club. Not even my agent knew anything about it.”
Never say never to a return to Italy, maybe even with one of Inter’s biggest rivals?
“Nothing is impossible. Never say never. Let’s see what happens. I have four years left on my contract at Fenerbahçe and I’m happy there. People like me, the fans are wonderful. I also have a good relationship with the club. I’ve found consistency again and I’m happy. My performances have improved and I want to keep going. I’m 30 now, time passes very quickly. These days everyone wants younger players. We’ll see what happens, but I’m very happy in Istanbul and I still want to achieve a lot here.”
Which derby is crazier – Istanbul or Milan?
“We know fans in Turkey are really crazy. Fenerbahçe–Galatasaray is a huge derby, but for Fenerbahçe fans the clash with Trabzonspor is even crazier. But San Siro – the stadium, the history, everything – always gives you something extra. I only played the derby at our ground in the Coppa Italia, which is a bit different. Now I’m happy that I can finally play the Istanbul derby in the league.”
